BALTIMORE — On Monday night, the Northeast Police District and the Dent Group help their sixth annual holiday dinner, bringing Baltimore Police and the community together.

Families came out for music, fun and a nice warm meal. Some of the money is raised from events like bake sales, but most of it comes from the officers themselves.

"This was needed. In Northeast, we're a family and we make sure our officers, department go out every single day to make sure people understand that we are here to serve you guys...to make sure we all feel included and we all do our part," said founder of the Dent Group, Marques Dent.

The officers and their families also prepared the meals and they made baskets for about 40 families in need, so they can have a holiday meal on Thanksgiving.

The Dent Group will hold a breakfast with Santa in December.
