BALTIMORE — City Council President Brandon Scott will introduce a bill to prohibit rent increases and penalties for late payments during the state of emergency at Monday's council meeting.

The bill will also prohibit “charging fees for late payments or no payments on rent payments.”

The Baltimore City Council also unanimously extended the City’s State of Emergency.

Although, Mayor Jack Young announced this on Friday, he couldn't extend the state of emergency himself without the consent of the council.
