BALTIMORE — More pushback over a plan to build a parking lot in a Baltimore City green space.

The Department of Recreation and Parks are renovating the Druid Hill Park pool.

Part of the design includes a new parking lot but, residents in the area are not too happy.

Many say the city should be focusing its efforts on getting people out of their cars and inside of the city's green spaces.

They spoke at the weekly board of estimates meeting Wednesday morning to voice their concerns again.

Some say they haven't been a part of this conversation but, city officials say that's not the case.

"This project started in 2014 and through this entire project Rec and Park has been transparent. There has been meetings with all the city agencies in reference to the pool, in reference to the parking lot," said Reginald Moore, Director of Department of Recreation and Parks.

Some residents say they would rather have a bus stop in the park.

The next step for the construction plan will be a review by the city council's land use committee.
