BALTIMORE — Baltimore's Johnston Square is getting a facelift.
Officials have already begun working to rehabilitate homes, complete Henrietta Lacks Park, start construction on a new apartment building and on Tuesday, Mayor Young began demolishing the three remaining properties in the 1100 block of Brentwood Avenue.
The space will now be the home of Johnston Square Field.
"While we're telling you your investment is worth it we're cleaning our streets and making sure it looks good and letting you know that Johnston Square is worth your investment," said Regina Hammond from the Rebuild Johnston Square Neighborhood Organization.
Johnston Square is one of the city's impact investment areas.
