BALTIMORE — A Baltimore family needs your help identifying the driver and car involved in a hit and run that injured a 15-year-old boy on Tuesday.

The incident happened near the intersection of Northbourne Road and Hillen Road in Northeast Baltimore around 3:00 p.m..

LaNyce Oldham says her son Sheldon McCoy, 15, was riding his bike to her house after leaving his grandmother’s when a car crashed into him.

A neighbor’s surveillance video captured the crash and showed the driver get out of the car before ultimately taking off.

“My son was literally under another car. The bike wheel completely came off,” Oldham said.

Oldham said it’s a blessing her son was not severely hurt after seeing how hard he was hit in the video. She said it could have easily turned out worse.

“All he saw was light," she said. "He couldn't see nothing out of his eyes. He said all he saw was light. He couldn't breathe."

Oldham said Sheldon didn’t suffer any broken bones and is in good spirits. She’s hoping the person who hit her son comes forward.

“Just do the right thing,” she said. “Because the power of prayer is going to put you in a mental space you won’t be able to bear anyway. You might as well turn yourself in.”

If you have any information about the driver and car involved in the hit and run, you are encouraged to give police a call.
