Fire crews battled a 2-alarm fire in Downtown Baltimore

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Fire officials are investigating a 2-alarm fire in Downtown Baltimore.

Fire crews responded to a vacant Baltimore City Community College building on Lombard Street. According to the department, crews arrived a heavy fire on the first floor of the building.

Officials said five people walked out unharmed and firefighters conducted a full search to confirm rest of building was empty.

The fire is out but fire officials are monitoring for hotspots.
