BALTIMORE — Beginning midday Friday and running through Saturday night, spring is in full bloom in Baltimore as Flower Mart, one of the oldest annual festivals in the city, takes over Mount Vernon Place.

Dozens of vendors, entertainers, food purveyors, and, of course, florist will bring their goods to the streets surrounding the Washington Monument for this floral, fragrant celebration of the season.

The event is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Walk, bike or take public transit if you can, as road closures will make driving tricky.

Charles Street between Centre Street and Read Street, Madison Street between St. Paul and Cathedral Streets, and Mount Vernon Place between St. Paul and Cathedral Streets will all be closed until midnight Monday for the event.
