Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain has teamed with the Salvation Army for the 9th consecutive year to feed 1,000 people a Thanksgiving style dinner.

McClain along with a group of former and current Baltimore Ravens players interacted with more than 200  struggling families and served them a holiday meal.

Getting a little extra help is something McClain knows all too personally.

"Why is it important, why isn't it. the reason is at one point I started off in the salvation army and the kindess of events like this would help mold me."

Each family also go to take home a gift box of Thanksgiving fixings to prepare on Thanksgiving Day.
