Frederick Douglass High students discuss youth violence prevention

Posted

After a spike in crimes an violence by youth, this week has been dubbed Youth Violence Prevention week.

Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby held a forum Thursday at Frederick Douglass High School.

The focus was to give the students opportunities to discuss solutions to decrease violence in their community.

"The young people, they're crying for help," said Shalik Fulton, the youth coordinator at the Office of the State's Attorney of Baltimore City. "A lot of times it's not coming out the right way, so we want to get to them. We want to hear their concerns."
