A new Maryland State Senator has been appointed.
On Monday, Governor Larry Hogan appointed Jill Carter to fill a State Senate seat vacated by former Maryland Senator Nathaniel Oaks.
From 2003 through 2017, Carter served in the Maryland House of Delegates. Part of her duties included chairing the Juvenile Law, Estates and Trusts and the Law and Justice Committees.
Carter will serve in the Maryland State Senate until the November election.
