Important deadlines for Maryland’s 7th Congressional District special election

BALTIMORE — Here's a reminder that the special election for Maryland’s 7th Congressional District is coming up soon and there's important deadlines this week!

To receive a ballot in the mail, residents who are eligible to vote but are not yet registered – including 17-year-olds who will be 18 years old on or before the April 28, 2020 need to register by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 21.

This is also the last day for registered voters who want to receive a ballot in the mail to update their address.

To receive a ballot electronically, the deadlines are extended until 11:59 pm on Friday, April 24, 2020.

Residents with a Maryland driver’s license or MVA-issued ID may register to vote or change their address online here.

Anyone wishing to check their voter registration status can do so on the State Board of Elections website here.

Due to the spread of COVID-19, paper voter registration applications must be sent to the local board of elections by mail, post marked not later than April 21.
