BALTIMORE — After more than three weeks, some City Council members are posting on Twitter that they have their email back following the ransomware attack.
In a search for answers, the IT department will be questioned before two committees.
City Council President Brandon Scott said members will appear before the Cybersecurity Committee, which he appointed, as well as the Budget Committee.
"We want to know what they knew, when, what steps they took, what missteps they made, what steps they didn't take that they should've taken," said Scott. "That way we can hold them accountable and also make sure that this doesn't happen in the future."
Scott also added, this is why the city needs to invest more in cybersecurity.
He believes that Mayor Jack Young can make it happen.
