Keswick resident celebrates 110th birthday, given a proclamation from Mayor Jack Young

BALTIMORE — A special Baltimore City resident celebrated her 110th birthday.

Bessie Harding is a resident at the Keswick Multi-Care Center. On Monday, she was presented a proclamation from Mayor Jack Young.

Ms. Harding was born in Nathalie, Virginia in 1909. She moved to Baltimore in the mid-1930's and lived everywhere from Waverly to Poplar Grove, before moving to the Keswick area.

She waited tables at the Mount Vernon Club for more than 30 years. She’s also a lifelong member of Enon Baptist church in West Baltimore.
