Its Nurses Week. Florence Nightingale, often referred to as one of America's most famous nurses, was born on May 12, 1820.
In honor of the day, Knock Out Nutrition brought 50 free meals to the nurses at MedStar Franklin Square Thursday night.
"We're taking care of the people that are taking care of us," said Chris Nissley, a managing partner of Knockout Fitness.
The team brought peanut thai chicken and a bed of spinach for the nurses. It was homemade by Jason Nissley, the certified nutritionist and trainer who owns Knockout Nutrition.
"It makes me feel great to be appreciated," said Lakia Cook, an ER nurse. "It's just great to be looked at by the public as someone that helps out."
