Mayor Catherine Pugh delivered her first State of the City Address on Thursday, a hundred days after taking office.
She covered a variety of issues in the city, from public safety and healthy communities to jobs and the economy. She focused a lot on her plan to fix the Baltimore City School System's $130 million budget deficit.
"By temporarily reducing our rain day fund allocation, requiring stricter guidelines for police and other agencies over time, we will with your help, Mr. President, and by leveraging the youth fund, we can provide funding to address the school system's structural deficit."
Pugh also said she wants to take any remaining funds put aside for snow removal and use it to fix the gap.
