BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police are investigating a homicide on the city's east side.
According to the department, a call came in at 7:35 p.m. for a shooting in the 2200 block of McElderry Street in East Baltimore.
When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old man who had been shot.
He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he later died.
Homicide detectives learned that victim was outside when an unknown vehicle drove up and a man exited a black vehicle and shot the victim with an assault style rifle.
The suspect got back in the vehicle on the passenger side and the vehicle fled southbound on Patterson Park Avenue.
Investigators said the suspect was wearing a gray tee shirt, gray shorts and black and gray sneakers at the time of the shooting.
