Man shot and killed in Southwest Baltimore, residents claim they heard the man asking for help

BALTIMORE — Police are investigating a Monday night homicide in Southwest Baltimore.

At 10:10 p.m., officers responded to the scene of a shooting in the 3500 block of St. Joseph Street. There, they found 18 year-old Tywon Smith suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Smith was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

Investigators on the case said they spoke with residents who claim they heard the victim asking for help. One resident rendered aid until medics arrived.
