BPD: Man who said he was robbed, set on fire changes story

BALTIMORE (WMAR) — A man who reported being robbed and set on fire has changed his story.

Baltimore Police say the victim confessed that he actually wasn't robbed, but was involved in illegal drug activity when a woman intentionally set him on fire.

The incident happened on January 2 in the 2600 block of McElderry Street.

Originally the 59-year-old victim told police he was robbed of his wallet and headphones, when a suspect threw some form of liquid on the back of his head, causing it to catch fire.

Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident and are now attempting to locate the female suspect.
