The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore welcomed the birth of a male African pygmy goat named Zod.

Zoo officials said the now 7-pound kid was born May 16 to Lex and Lois, the Zoo’s pair of African pygmy goats.

Zod joins his parents with a name inspired by Superman. He’s named after General Dru-Zod, a warlord from Krypton, Superman’s home planet.

“He is still quite young, but is exploring his new barn, playing with Lois and napping,” Carey Ricciardone, mammal collection and conservation manager at The Maryland Zoo said in a statement. “As always, our staff will continue to monitor Lois and Zod closely to ensure that they are doing well together.”

Visitors can stop by to see Lois and Zod in the farmyard at the Maryland Zoo.

“We encourage visitors to stop by to visit Zod and watch him grow up all summer long,” Ricciardone said.
