MICA faculty members get Oscar nomination for short film

Two Maryland Institute College of Art faculty members received an Oscar nomination for their short-animated film. 

"Negative Space" was co-directed by Max Porter and Ru Kuwahata.   

The movie is about a businessman who teaches his son how to pack a suitcase as a way to connect with him since he takes frequent trips for work.  

The Academy Award nomination was in the best animated short film category.
