More than 330 coats given to Baltimore students

Posted

Students at Pimlico Elementary/Middle School will be warm this winter thanks to some Baltimore sponsors.

More than 330 coats were handed out to students Friday at the Winter Coat Drive at Garrison Middle School.

Melissa Wells, director of the Baltimore office of North America’s Building Trades Unions, said these coats couldn't have come soon enough, given the snowy forecast.

"We know that folks are in need of some warm clothing. We know that is one of the more distressed areas of the city and we wanted to make sure to provide some support to the students and their families," Wells said.

The Baltimore office of North America’s Building Trades Unions partnered with the Baltimore City Public Schools System and the Park Heights Renaissance for the coat drive.
