BALTIMORE — BARCS now has a brand-new facility,

Crews wrapped up construction on the building in Cherry Hill.

The shelter takes in 12,000 animals a year and the new facility makes it easier to look after them.

It even has an expanded medical wing allowing BARCS to do more procedures in house.

"For anybody that visited the shelter before it was very small and very rundown, and it was really never meant to be an animal shelter. It was originally built almost 30 years ago as a municipal facility but not to be that kind of modern animal shelter."

The project was part of a deal to make way for a future Topgolf in Baltimore.
