One person is dead after a fire broke out in a two-story house in Northeast Baltimore just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Fire officials say heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the home when crews first arrived. The fire happened in the 2000 blk of Belair Road, near the Belair-Edison neighborhood.
Officials say the man was found in a front bedroom on the second floor of the home; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other injuries and officials have not released the name of the victim.
Crews have not said what caused the fire. Officials say this is the 25th fire fatality in Baltimore City this year.
