Orioles fans ecstatic about win Sunday night, eye World Series

Posted

Orioles fans are ecstatic knowing their team is in the playoffs and has a chance to make it all the way to the World Series.

At this point, it's do or die for the team. One game against the Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday night at 8 p.m. will determine if their season is over or if they continue their playoff run.

"I was in the car, you know fist pumping in the car, I'm sure the guy behind me was like what is this guy doing?" Superfan Scott Lester said when he was listening to the Orioles beat the Yankees Sunday night.

Lester grew up a fan of the O's, wearing their gear, and now cheers them on each season at home and on the road.

"I'm very excited, hopeful for a world series appearance in my lifetime," Lester said.

"This is pretty cool, we should've beat Kansas City in 2014," Birthday boy and fan Cameron, 15, said. He loved that the day before his birthday, the Orioles beat the Yankees and will move on to play Toronto Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

"It's the 50th anniversary of the team's first world series championship, so it would be timely 50 years later to bring another one to Baltimore," Vice President of Communications for the O's Greg Bader said.

The O's need to beat the Blue Jays to guarantee another home game. If we win at least three games against Texas, then beat Boston or Cleveland in the 7 game series, the O's will get a spot in the World Series.

"They don't give up during the course of a nine inning game, much less over the course of a season, so we're really hopeful they'll be able to bring it in Toronto and bring some home games back to Baltimore," Bader said.

If you plan on going to a home game, (if the O's win) tickets will go quickly. They are now on sale online and are refundable.
