Pastor Bryant founded The Empowerment Temple Church in Northwest Baltimore in 2000. Throughout the years, he led that church to be one of the fastest growing African American Methodist Episcopal Church's in the denomination's history.
He was also very vocal during the unrest following Freddie Gray's death.
Bryant tweeted this is an emotional roller coaster for him, but he trusts god on his journey.
Sunday is my last Sunday as pastor of @EmpowermentTem2 Pray for me this is an emotional roller coaster...but I TRUST God. ....come dance, celebrate and cry with us, even if it’s online https://t.co/ofnODYG7gK
