BALTIMORE — Baltimore City Firefighters and residents held a community rally against budgets cuts to fire companies serving Pigtown and Northeast Baltimore.

The rally included speeches from City Council President Brandon Scott, Baltimore Fire Officers Association President and other city council members to discuss the issues of the closures.

“These closures are not the thing to do especially when we’re dealing with the biggest health issue in a generation.”

Pigtown residents and city council members are counting on Mayor Young to stop the closures and cuts.

The BFOA president said their message to Mayor Young is to stand on the right side of history and save community fire stations.
