BALTIMORE — Many people in Baltimore want to know what's going to be done about the growing piles of trash that have been forming throughout their neighborhoods.

Trash collection has been a problem in the city since an outbreak of COVID-19 happened at one of the city's sanitation yards, a couple weeks ago. However, as a result, piles of trash have been popping up throughout the city.

On Monday, WMAR-2 News reached out to DPW and was sent the following statement:

"Please note that DPW is working diligently to get all trash collected as soon as possible. Citizens should continue to call 311 for missed trash collections, and to bundle and place trash in tightly sealed bags and/or cans for pick-up."

A representative from DPW also mentioned that their Acting Director will provide an update on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
