BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police said they have arrested and charged a woman with killing her mother in March.

The Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested 22 year-old Eshyna Young, of the unit block of S. Morely Street, in the 600 block of E. 38th Street without incident.

After firefighters discovered 50 year-old Tinestta Young, Eshyna Young's mother, unresponsive after a house fire in the unit block of S. Morely Street, medical personnel declared her dead at the scene.

Medical Examiners later collected Young's remains and immediately discovered signs that she did not die as a result of the fire. Officials said doctors determined the cause of death was asphyxiation.

Police said after Eshyna Young killed her mother, she then set the house on fire.

Eshyna Young was taken to Central Booking where she has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree arson. Currently Young is waiting to see a court commissioner.

Baltimore Police said a motive for this murder has not been determined.
