BALTIMORE — A suspect fleeing from police jumped into the Patapsco River on Sunday afternoon.
It happened just before 1pm along the 2600 block of Boston Street in Baltimore City's Canton neighborhood.
The whole thing started with two men fighting over a stolen motorcycle.
During the altercation one allegedly pulled a pocket knife cutting the other.
The suspect reportedly jumped into the water and swam beneath a nearby bridge to avoid police capture.
Rescue units were called out and safely pulled the suspect from the river at which time police took him into custody.
He's now charged with auto theft. Police did not reveal the man's name, only confirming he is 48-years-old.
