Police ID task force officers shot Wednesday while serving warrant

BALTIMORE (WMAR) — Police have released the names of two officers shot Wednesday while attempting to serve a felony arrest warrant at the Garden Village Apartments in Northeast Baltimore.

Baltimore Police Officer Robert Adams was struck in the calf and Baltimore County Police Officer First Class Swinney was struck in the abdomen and leg.

Both were transported to Shock Trauma. Adams has since been released while Swinney remains hospitalized.

The suspect, Michael Marullo, a former Maryland Corrections officer was shot and killed at the scene.

Both officers are part of the U.S. Marshal's Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The Baltimore Police Department's Special Investigations Response Team and Homicide Unit are investigating exactly how the officers were shot.

Marullo was wanted by Pennsylvania authorities on an attempted murder charge. He pulled a .357 magnum when officers approached him. That weapon, was fully loaded with six live rounds and recovered at the scene.
