An off-duty detective hit a dirt bike and was assaulted by group of dirt bike riders, according to Baltimore Police.
The detective was driving southbound on Monroe Street in her car, when she hit a dirt bike that was also riding in the 1100 block of Monroe St.
When she got out of her car to check on the rider, other dirt bike riders assaulted her, police said. When officers arrived to assist her, the riders fled the scene.
The detective was taken by medic to a local hospital with an injury to her ankle.
The suspects haven't been identified. Police don't know if the bike rider hit was injured.
There's no evidence that the suspects on the dirt bikes were aware the person they assaulted was a police officer, according to police.
