The Baltimore Ravens aren't the only ones who pulled out a win over Oakland this week.
The Enoch Pratt Free Library announced on Wednesday they won the Book Bowl against the Oakland Public Free Library. The 2018 Book Bowl was a part of a Giving Tuesday fundraiser for libraries in both cities, seeing who can raise the most.
In just three days, online donations rose to nearly $40,000. The competition began during the Sunday kickoff of the Ravens and Raiders game and ended at midnight on Tuesday.
“We are so thankful for the generosity of our Baltimore community in supporting the Pratt,” says Pratt Library President & CEO Heidi Daniel. “I want to thank Laura Lippman and the Good Hope Foundation whose generous matching gifts helped put us over the top. This is really a win for our entire city.”
This is now the fourth time the Pratt library has challenged another library system in the Book Bowl fundraiser. Private funding helps support innovative programming for all ages across the Pratt Library’s 22 locations.
