Baltimore City is tired of the violence.
Religious leaders, community members and police officers gathered on Preston Street Thursday evening. They prayed together and stood together, trying to raise awareness about the senseless violence going on in the city.
"Today we wanted to do a prayer walk to show our support," said Marcus Dent, an organizer of the event. "Number 1, for the families, and then number 2, try to bridge the gap of what's going on around us in the city, because this violence has to stop, it's just deplorable."
Just two weeks ago, eight people were shot on the 700 block of E. Preston Street -- and a 3-year-old girl was one of the people in the line of fire. Three people were also shot during Labor Day weekend in the same area.
Now the community is joining hands to demand an end to the constant fighting.
