BALTIMORE, Md. — As the fog and rain descended over the Inner Harbor people brought their own warmth and learned to play in the rain.

"We’ve lived here for about 20 years now but this is the first time we’ve actually come to the Inner Harbor,” said Geri Dubois. “I thought it was always too crowded or whatever but this year we said no we’re going to come. It’s just always so exciting watching it on TV and I just wanted to be where he action was.”

Kamari James has never been to the Inner Harbor celebration and said he’s happy that it rained.

“I feel more alive more here then I do if I had warm weather,”. James said. “If you had warm weather it would just feel normal and boring but this type of weather you gotta wake up and really enjoy it.”

Every year Rich brings his tambourine down to play along with the band from the stands. He said Baltimore has the best fireworks show.

“The weather is amazing come on out here and grab an umbrella don’t miss these fireworks these are the best fireworks in the world.”

Not the best weather for fireworks or standing outside, but the people who came out weren’t going to let it damper their start to 2019.
