Road closures and parking restrictions expected throughout Baltimore City

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore City Department of Transportation is advising motorists that there will be several road closures and parking restrictions throughout Baltimore City.

At this time and continuing through Monday, September 7, 2020 the following roadways will be closed to through traffic in Fells Point:

  • Thames Street from the southbound lane of Broadway to the west side of The Pendry
  • Northbound lane of S. Broadway between Thames and Lancaster Streets

There will also be various parking restrictions along Thames Street, Broadway and other areas in Fells Point. Residential Permit Parking (RPP) will be strictly enforced throughout the weekend in Fells Point (RPP Area 16) and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed.

Fells Point Residential Permit Parking in Area 16 will be enforced along the following roadways:

  • Aliceanna Street • Broadway
  • Fleet Street • Shakespeare Street
  • Ann Street • Thames Street
  • Lancaster Street • Dallas Street
  • Bethel Street • Wolfe Street
  • Register Street • Durham Street
  • Bond Street • Fell Street

There will be a passenger loading zone in the 800 block of S. Broadway (southbound) north of Shakespeare Street to allow for customer order pick-ups and delivery vehicles.

Local access will be maintained for authorized vehicles. Parking will be allowed along the 800 block of S. Broadway each Saturday from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Fells Point Farmers Market vendors.

A portion of Cross Street has also been closed in Federal Hill to allow for outdoor dining.

At this time, the north side of S. Cross Street is closed to through traffic between Light and Charles Streets with detours and parking restriction in effect.

This weekend, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented in Canton to allow for outdoor dining.

Starting on Friday, August 7 and continuing through Sunday, August 9, the following roadways will be closed in Canton from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m. each day with parking restrictions in effect:

  • O’Donnell Street (both the east and west sides) between Linwood and Potomac Streets
  • Curley Street from O’Donnell Street east and west to the alleyways

Curb lane closures will also be implemented along the following roadways during these times:

  • Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Elliot Streets
  • Linwood Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets
  • Potomac Street between O’Donnell and Dillon Streets

This Saturday, temporary lane and ramp closures will be implemented along a portion of the northbound Jones Falls Expressway for maintenance work.

On Saturday, August 8, a right lane closure will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway between Falls Road and Cold Spring Lane from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In addition, the eastbound Cold Spring Lane exit ramp from the northbound Jones Falls Expressway will also be closed during this time with detours in effect.

Also on Saturday, a double left lane closure will be implemented along Lombard Street at the intersection of Calvert Street from 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

S. Franklintown Road will be closed to through traffic between Baltimore and Pratt Streets from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

A portion of Madison Street will temporarily close for bridge demolition. Madison Street will be closed to through traffic between Greenmount Avenue and Fallsway from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Temporary lane closures will be implemented along Wilson Street between Brunt and Division Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A traffic flagging operation will be implemented during this time to direct motorists through the work zone.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

On or about Monday, August 10, Reisterstown Road will be closed to through traffic between Wylie and Virginia Avenues starting at 9:00 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

All through northbound Reisterstown Road traffic will be detoured at Cold Spring Lane, and southbound traffic will detour at Woodland Avenue. Local traffic and neighborhood parking will be maintained for area businesses and residents along Reisterstown Road during this time. Access to the Zeta Center, located at 4501 Reisterstown Road, will remain open.

This portion of Reisterstown Road will remain closed to through traffic for approximately 10 weeks, as sewer line work is completed. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Northbound Reisterstown Road traffic will be detoured left onto Cold Spring Lane, right onto Wabash Avenue, right onto W. Garrison Avenue and left back to Reisterstown Road.

Southbound Reisterstown Road traffic will be detoured left onto Woodland Avenue, right onto Park Heights Avenue, right onto W. Cold Spring Lane and left back onto Reisterstown Road.
