Roadway construction closes some Baltimore streets

Posted

If you are planning on traveling through Baltimore in the next couple of days you may want to be aware of some planned road closures.

Portions of Hamilton Avenue, westbound Frankford Avenue and Carter Avenue will temporarily close for roadway construction as part of the on-going Geometric Improvement Project.

Roads were closed Tuesday morning and will remain closed until around noon on Wednesday with the following detours in effect:

  • Hamilton Avenue between Frankford Avenue and Walther Boulevard
  • Westbound Frankford Avenue between Walther Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue
  • Carter Avenue between Hamilton and Evergreen Avenues

During this time, local access will be maintained for area residents and businesses.

Once these roadways are reopened on Wednesday, roadway milling and paving operations will occur along Frankford Avenue between Corse and Hamilton Avenues daily through Friday.

Daily traffic flagging operations will also be implemented along this stretch of Frankford Avenue to direct motorists through the work zones.

People traveling in this vicinity should expect delays and be on the watch for changing traffic patterns.
