Santa certificates help families buy presents

Families in need can get some extra Christmas help in Baltimore City on Thursday.

The housing authority is handing out certificates that can be redeemed at certain retailers. With those certificates, families will be able to redeem them for toys, clothing, and other presents for children at partnering retail merchants.

Families can pick them up from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Mondawmin Mall in the Community Room in the lower level between the Burger King and the Bank of America.

A non-profit called Santa Claus Anonymous funds the program and reimburses the stores where the parents use those certificates.
