BALTIMORE — The Department of Transportation says several major city streets will close Saturday for various repairs and construction.

Starting at 6 a.m., the Hanover Street Bridge / Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will close in both directions between Waterview Avenue and Cromwell Street. The bridge will be closed until around 8 p.m. Sunday.

Southbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured south on I-95, to MD-295, onto Waterview Avenue via the Annapolis Road exit, then back to Hanover Street.

Northbound Hanover Street traffic will be detoured west on Waterview Avenue, north on MD-295, east on Hamburg Street back to Hanover Street.

Crane lift operations will close two lanes of S. Greene Street between Baltimore and Lombard Streets, and E. Mount Royal Avenue between St. Paul and Charles Streets from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. E. Redwood Street will also be closed between Calvert and South Streets from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions.

From 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., BGE work will shut down Preston Street between Broadway and Oliver Street and S. Franklintown Road between Baltimore and Pratt Streets.

Drivers in the area should lookout for detours and changing traffic patterns.
