BALTIMORE — On Tuesday, the Slattery Story came full circle as WMAR-2 News investigative reporter Brian Kuebler stood beside Ed Slattery for the release of The Long Blink.

Kuebler covered the heartbreaking story nine years ago and turned the journey since into a book. On Tuesday, he and Slattery were the subject of the Writers Live series at the Enoch Pratt Library.

“The hope is that the story induces some reaction by politicians and regulators so that 4,000 people aren’t dying on the highways in crashes with trucks every year," said Ed Slattery. "I also hope people just get a sense of how serious driving an automobile is."

The book is available online and at several area book stores.
