BALTIMORE — Drivers, get ready to slow down around Liberty Elementary School in Northwest Baltimore.

Beginning on July 27, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation will install a new speed camera along the 3800 block of Liberty Heights.

The camera is calibrated to photograph the tag of any vehicle traveling 12 miles an hour or more over the posted speed limit.

Registered owners of the vehicle in violation will receive a $40 citation in the mail. The penalty does not include points to your drivers license.

The City says the cameras will be in operation Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. year round.
