BALTIMORE — State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby announced she was dismissing charges against Ricky Walker Jr, who was shot by Baltimore Police on July 1.
In a statement, SAO Spokesperson Zy Richardson said:
“The charges against Mr. Walker were filed by the Baltimore Police Department without consultation with our office. Although we believe this matter is a serious case, in light of the need for judicial economy during a global pandemic, as well as the severity of Mr. Walker’s current health condition and mental state, a decision on how to proceed will be made at a later date.”
The shooting happened in North Baltimore in the 5800 block of Falkirk Road and, according to Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, two police officers arrived to the home after receiving a call from a family member about a man having a mental health episode.
