BALTIMORE — A new Preakness date is still under consideration.

On Wednesday, the Stronach Group put out a statement on Twitter updating the public on the status of the historic event.

"The Stronach Group/Maryland Jockey Club is aware that a potential date for Preakness 145 has been announced. At this point, there is no definitive date set and we continue to explore options. Once a date for Preakness 145 has been finalized, an official announcement will be made."

Governor Larry Hogan in March postponed the race.

Whenever the race does take place, it will be without InfieldFest. Last month the Stronach Group said the event wouldn't take place during this year's race, but it would return in 2021.

The Kentucky Derby, which is the first leg of horse racing's triple crown has already been rescheduled from May 2 to September 5.
