Suspect arrested and charged for Saturday's South Baltimore homicide

BALTIMORE — Baltimore police have arrested the suspect responsible for the death of 36-year-old Michael Alston.

On Saturday, officers from the Southern District were called to the 2000 block of Ramsay Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Alston with a gunshot wound to his body. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.

During the course of their investigation, detectives identified 37-year-old Jonathan Blagmon, of the 100 block of N. Monastery Avenue, as the suspect. He was arrested, on Monday, and transported to the Central Booking and Intake Facility.

He has been been charged with murder, assault, and several handgun related charges.
