3 hurt, families displaced by apartment fire

Three people were hurt and 10 families displaced by a fire that ripped through an apartment building in southwest Baltimore Sunday morning.

Officials said firefighters were dispatched to 6 North Woodington Rd. around 9:55 a.m. for a report of a fire. When firefighters arrived,  they found heavy flames coming from the third floor.

The fire escalated to two alarms and additional units were brought in to fight the blaze.

Three people were hurt and taken to area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are unknown.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families.
