Three men killed after crashing into MTA bus in stolen vehicle

BALTIMORE — Three men were killed after they crashed into an MTA bus in a stolen vehicle while trying to avoid police.

On Wednesday at about 9:41 p.m., officers received a report of a carjacking involving a white BMW.

Citywide Robbery detectives assumed control of the investigation and found the vehicle in the Northwest District. Detectives called for marked police units to stop the vehicle.

Police say the driver of the BMW accelerated once he saw police and turned onto Wabash Avenue, traveling northbound in the 5200 block.

A MTA bus driver later told investigators the BMW was traveling at a high rate of speed and hit the bus as it was turning onto Eldorado Avenue from Wabash Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene of the collision, they saw an MTA bus and a BMW with three seriously injured men.

The three occupants of the BMW were transported to area hospitals and pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly after arrival.

The MTA bus driver was not injured. Crash Team Investigators are investigating the collision.

The three deceased individuals have not been positively identified.
