On Sunday, 20 local women were treated to a day of pampering, beauty, and self-esteem building.
These women are homeless and victims of domestic violence .
The Diva Project provided them all with hair styling, nail care and make-up services.
Then guests were featured in a photo shoot.
Counseling services were also offered to help aid the women in finding jobs, shelters, and other assistance needed to overcome the challenges of leaving an abusive partner.
Cindy Tawiah from DIVA by Cindy was a victim of domestic violence; ”I am a survivor domestic violence so I've found it worthwhile to reach back and uplift my sisters using beauty as my platform.”
Tawiah uses the proceeds from her “Diva by Cindy” hair care line to support the women.
In the last decade they've managed to beautify 450 women in Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.
