BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Department of Transportation is advising motorists that several streets in the downtown area are closed due to a water main break.

At this time, Howard Street is closed between Lombard and Camden Streers. Motorists trying to access I-395 South via Howard Street should avoid the area and access I-395 via Light and Conway Streets.

Traffic traveling on I-395 North into Baltimore City will not be allowed to access Howard Street and will be detoured onto Conway Street. In addition, portions of Pratt, Eutaw and Paca Streets are also affected by the break.

These closures will significantly affect traffic in the downtown area, as Howard Street is a main route for commuters trying to access I-395.
