Woman dies after W. Baltimore fire in home

Baltimore Fire officials confirm that a woman who was injured in a fire Wednesday evening in west Baltimore has died Thursday.

Firefighters responded to the house fire in the 1900 block of Edmondson Ave just after 8:30 p.m. They found heavy smoke in the first floor of a three-story middle of the group home. The woman was found in full arrest; she was taken immediately to a local hospital.

She has since been identified as 57-year-old Miriam Wright.

Her official cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office. There were no other occupants in the home at the time; the cause of the fire will continue to be investigated.
