Woman struck by Amtrak train at West Baltimore station

BALTIMORE, Md. — A woman was struck by an Amtrak train at the West Baltimore station Monday morning.

According to Amtrak, the woman was trespassing on the tracks when Amtrak Vermonter train 56 en route to Vermont struck her.

The woman was alert and breathing at the time she was being transported to the hospital, said a Baltimore City Fire official.

Amtrak officials report none of the 169 passengers and crew members on board were injured.

Amtrak Police Department and city law enforcement are investigating the incident.
