DUNDALK, Md. — Connecting police with kids in need through baseball.
That's the exact purpose of the Fourth Annual Baltimore County Police Department Baseball Camp.
The week-long camp focuses on the underprivileged and at-risk youth from ages 8 to 14. And it's free!
The program started in 2016 by Officer McElfish. He's a 25-year veteran of the Baltimore County Police Department and played in the minor leagues for the Cleveland Indians.
"Just a way for the community and the officers who served the community to kind of get to know each other a little better and have some better relations," said Officer McElfish.
The camp at Merritt Point Park in Dundalk continues through Friday, and there will be a cookout to mark the end of the camp.
